surprise birthday getaway

This past weekend, Ryan took me on a little surprise trip for my birthday! We left Brynlee with my parents, and it was the first time we had been away from her overnight. It was so hard for me! I won't deny that I cried a bit Saturday night... but afterward I was fine and was able to have fun.

Ryan ended up taking me to Canada and we stayed overlooking Niagara Falls. It's funny because I couldn't tell you how many times I've been to the falls (too many to remember) but each time it is no less breathtaking. Don't miss the rainbow!

We had a wonderful dinner and went to a magic show... the kind of magic show where the assistants would turn into tigers and stuff like that. It was AWESOME. Ryan and I kept looking at each other and saying "Whaaaat??!" after every trick. Sunday, we went to Niagara on the Lake and walked around and checked out the cute little shops. It was such a nice little getaway. Love my sweet hubby!

So, here we are a month later and I am finally posting pics from our vacation to Gatlinburg, TN. We had lots of fun and were able to relax in our huge cabin. We shopped, mini golfed, and explored. Brynlee did okay on the (without a baby about 13 hour) car ride down, but when we got down there she decided she was DONE in the car for the rest of the trip. She ended up just screaming any time we would drive anywhere... and we HAD to drive to get anywhere, since there wasn't anything to do within walking distance. We also ended up driving through the night to get home, which TERRIFIED me, but we made it and she slept pretty well. My neck, on the other hand, is STILL sore from head bobbing as I fell in and out of sleep! Ryan downed some energy shot drinks that kept him going. It was just really nice to spend time with Ryan's family all together for a week straight!
